ReStyle a huge sucess!
ReStyle was a huge sucess!
It was a night of glitz and glam at the 2010 ReStyle wearable arts show held on the 7th of
August. There were
eight fantastic entrants into Habitat’s Reconstrut category.
Designers used second hand materials from Habitat’s ReStore
including at least one construction material to create their
outfit. Outfits included materials like wire, building paper,
caution tape and even a cement trowel for a hat! The fashion show
had more than 80 entries. The overall winning outfit took three
years to make and was created from more than 2500 bread tags welded
together with fishing nylon. The intent of the outfit was to raise
awareness of ocean pollution, showing just how much impact a small
insignificant
everyday
plastic item can have on the environment. Congratulations to all
the entrants and thank you to all the attendees for supporting
Habitat for Humanity with your donations of pre-loved outfits to be
sold in our ReStore.Articles
