Rotorua ReStore

The purpose of the Rotorua ReStore is to raise funds for the building programme.

The Rotorua ReStore officially opened its doors on January 13th 2003.  The ReStore was purchased from Foodstuffs (it was the ‘New World’ store) with generous funding from Mr. Victor Roepke.

The ReStore is located in the ideal Western Heights area of Rotorua, which is predominantly populated by low to middle income earners.

The local Polytechnic students assisted us in 2005, building all new shelving for the ReStore. This improved the layout and gave it a professional appearance, rather like a second-hand department store but at bargain affordable prices!

The ReStore is a placement agency for the Department of Corrections, Mana Social Services, Mental Health Services, and Special Needs Students. June 2008 saw the collaboration with Workwise Rotorua to place Mental Health trainees that wanted to learn the Retail trade, and workshop activities including furniture restoration at the ReStore.  A specific programme was designed and WINZ have approved incentive payments for all participants, as well as consideration of funding for the ReStore.
