The Greater Auckland Habitat ReStore is one of six Habitat ReStores in New Zealand

Working as part of Habitat for Humanity Greater Auckland, the Habitat ReStore retail operation provides a valuable source of cash flow through the sale of donated goods and materials

The Habitat ReStore is located just off Te Irirangi Drive at 8 Ormiston Road, East Tamaki.
Telephone 09 271 3358

Our goals are to:

  • Generate cash flow to support Habitat’s home building program
  • Keep valuable materials out of local area landfills
  • Provide the community with a source of low cost building materials and other goods
  • Provide an opportunity to volunteer at the Habitat ReStore
Here's how it works:

Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of new or used and saleable, appliances, Bric a Brac, clothing, furniture, b

uilding materials such as cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, timber, flooring, and windows. Some materials will be used to build Habitat houses. The rest will be sold to the public at 50-90% off the retail price
.

The Habitat ReStore:

  • Makes home improvements more affordable.
  • Helps Habitat build more homes. In an average year, the Habitat ReStore will allow Habitat to build two additional homes in Greater Auckland.
  • Prevents usable building materials from going to a landfill. The Habitat ReStore keeps close to 1000 tons of building materials out of Greater Auckland's landfills annually.

How you can help:

The Habitat ReStore is an ambitious project, and we need the help of a lot of people in many different ways to make it successful. You can help by volunteering, donating good used building materials, clothing or household items or simply by shopping at the Habitat ReStore.
