There has been an active Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Dunedin since 1995. Since that time we have helped twelve families into owning their own homes. A recent survey amongst NZ Habitat home owners shows that when a family moves into our Homes, things like relationships, ability to budget, employment, health and even school work often improve for family members. This has been our experience. As well as benefits to each family there have been hundreds of volunteers involved over the years and that sense of community enhanced.

We are governed by a Board locally who work tirelessly with committees and sub groups to select families, raise money in ever increasing amounts, buy land, and plan and participate in actual builds. All assisted by a greater pool of volunteers who give up so much of their time to make Dunedin such a successful Affiliate.

We employ an administrator for 15 hours per week to co-ordinate the many areas required to run the Affiliate.
