About Us
Habitat for Humanity (Northland) was founded in January 1995, with our first house being dedicated in December of that year. Since then, we have helped give 35 families a hand up into their new homes, and will be beginning our next house in October 2010 in Dargaville.
Office and Staff
We have a small office, located at 48 Kamo Road, Whangarei, which is open from Monday to Thursday, 9am to 1 pm. Our staff are Executive Officer, Adrian Whale, and Office Assistant, Janet Heron. All other workers, except some paid tradesmen on the builds, are volunteers.

Future Plans and Challenges
Along with other affiliates in NZ and elsewhere, the acquisition of affordable land has become a major challenge. One response for us is to plan to build more houses on multiple owned Maori Land, something which brings its own unique challenges and rewards.
