ReStores in the Central North Island

Habitat for Humanity ReStore outlets enable communities to recirculate quality, previously owned household goods, furniture, clothing and building supplies. All profits go to funding Habitat's work in the community. At present, we have ReStores in four locations in the Central North Island: HamiltonHastings , Rotorua and Te Awamutu.

Do you have something you would like to donate?

One of the many ways you can participate in Habitat for Humanity's housing projects is by donating quality used items such as household goods, furniture, clothing and building supplies to the store or by volunteering some of your time to help at your local ReStore. There's a job for everyone, so contact us to find out how you can participate.

Over the last couple of years our Hamilton ReStore has become incredibly successful in terms of its ability to serve the greater Hamilton community while raising funds for our building projects," says ReStore Regional Manager, Sara Gaskin.

A visit to the ReStore reveals the secret of the store's success: not only is this ReStore stocked with quality items at affordable prices, the store layout makes it easy to find what one is looking for. Additionally, the staff and volunteers, under Sara, are always happy to help shoppers find the item they're looking for.

2010 was a banner year for the Hastings ReStore.
Store Manager, Judith Miratana, credits the store's new levels of success on their May 2010 relocation.

"Sales in 2010 and 2011 have been fantastic and we're getting
more donations than ever before" she says.
"Relocating to a high foot-traffic area, was definitely a strategic move for us that's paying off. I believe we'll see this growth continue in 2012."

On December 1st 2010, Habitat for Humanity Central North Island was happy to welcome a new addition to the family: Habitat Rotorua. The Rotorua team, comprised of three full-time staff, four regular volunteers and a number of occasional volunteers were very excited about becoming part of the larger, CNI group.

The newly renovated and re-organized ReStore will be overseen by Habitat CNI ReStore Regional Manager, Sara Gaskin. Says Sara: "We believe that the Rotorua ReStore, with its wonderfully dedicated volunteers and staff, is well on its way to achieving the same level of success as our other ReStores."

On 5 October 2011, Habitat for Humanity Central North Island opened its fourth ReStore in the CNI region: the Te Awamutu ReStore. The new ReStore, managed by Claire Harris, is located on Sloane Street, opposite Countdown.

ReStore Manager Claire has worked in the Hamilton ReStore since 2007 and is very excited about opening a store in such a vibrant community as Te Awamutu. "Habitat has had great volunteer support from the TeA area in the past, so to be able to be amongst the community with a ReStore is fantastic",  says Claire.

Claire will be supported by several dedicated volunteers and together they aim to give each customer in the ReStore a great customer experience.
